SERVICES

By integrating energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy sources, and eco-friendly practices, we aim to reduce the carbon footprint associated with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. We provide furnace and boiler installations, ductless mini split systems, solar assisted heat pumps, and much more. Our sustainable options make it possible for customers to enjoy all the traditional benefits of new HVAC units, such as improved indoor air quality, reduced energy costs, and enhanced comfort, but in an environmentally responsible manner that contributes to a greener future. We work with both residential homes and commercial properties alike on jobs ranging from minor maintenance work to large-scale projects. Read on to learn more about our capabilities and contact us to schedule a service call in the Albany, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, and Troy, NY areas!

Hydronics

The term “Hydronics” refers to the practice of using circulating water to add or remove heat from a space.

The thermal properties of water make it an exceptional medium for heat transfer. Forcing air through ducts causes a substantial portion of its heat to be lost in transit. Circulating water in a radiant floor loop will easily retain and deliver the energy you paid for. A hydronic approach maintains a notable comfort advantage. Radiative heat transfer provides steady and even heating without the hot or cold spots that can result from forced air distribution. Hydronic heating systems are fundamentally versatile, allowing us to customize the delivery of heat according to your expectations. Hydronic heating systems give you agency over the form and function of your space conditioning equipment; whether it's a classic cast iron radiator or a modern wall mounted panel, your heating distribution can become part of the visual appeal of a space rather than something to be obscured.

The Future of Home Comfort

Just as the visual style of hydronic distribution has evolved over the years, so too has the equipment. As rising energy costs and the consequences of our energy use take center stage, there is an increasing availability of fossil fuel free and staggeringly efficient reverse cycle chillers that have entered the market. Systems manufactured by Spacepak and Enertech can provide heating, cooling and domestic hot water in a single package with highly configurable options for delivery. Although hydronics date back to antiquity, we are proud to provide our customers with a modern approach to this timeless technology.

Electric HVAC

Heat pumps have been around for longer than most people realize. The first functional heat pump was built in 1857. The operating principle of a heat pump is simple - in fact, it’s in the name. A heat pump simply moves heat from one place to another by pumping refrigerant through a loop. This process is referred to as the heat pump refrigeration cycle and consists of a series of stages where the system passively collects heat. This is a unique feature of heat pumps as most HVAC systems rely on converting energy stored in a fuel source into useful heat. This process only provides a faction of the energy stored in the fuel, by contrast, the heat pump cycle actually delivers more useful heat than the system consumes. During the 20th century residential heat pump HVAC systems were only suitable for temperate climates. In the last 3 decades heat pumps have become a very effective option even in the coldest northern climates. Since the advent of the “mini-split”, converting a home with a fossil fuel system to an all electric heating and cooling system has become increasingly straightforward and cost effective year over year.

Clean Air. Clean Design. Clean Heat.

Radiant Store CEO and founder Terry Moag explains why heat pumps are a great solution for every home.

High Efficiency Furnaces & Boilers

At The Radiant Store, we understand that our customers have different needs when it comes to heating and cooling their homes. That’s why our team is experienced in all types of HVAC equipment, including more conventional systems. Our goal is to help our customers find the right solution for their home, whether that means a zero-emissions option or a highly efficient and top-of-the-line fossil fuel system, such as Bosch Greenstar Boilers, TARM Biomass Boilers, and Carrier Infinity Furnaces.
